1) In The Steps of St. Paul?

For November, we (our Church) are planning a mission Sunday based on the
missionary journey of St. Paul. The Sunday school children have been asked
to perform a skit in these lines. I have searched the Internet for
something appropriate to no avail...any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...Darlene

2) Need Game Ideas for VBS

Our Vacation Bible School this year is SonCreek Junction and the theme is
everything western/old fashioned/gold mining town, etc.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for some old-fashioned, outdoor
games such as 3 legged race, sack race, etc., games that would've been
played a long time ago. Our VBS is August 13-17.
Thanks for your help. Cathy Bodell

3) The pumpkin...a great analogy

A lady had recently been baptized. One of her co-workers asked her what it
was like to be a Christian. She was caught off guard and didn't know how
to answer; but when she looked up, saw a jack-o-lantern on the desk and
answered: "It's like being a pumpkin."

The co-worker asked her to explain that one.
"Well, God picks you from the patch and brings you in and washes off all
the dirt on the outside that you got from being around all the other
pumpkins. Then he cuts off the top and takes all the yucky stuff out from
inside. He removes all those seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.

Then he carves you a new smiling face and puts his light inside of you to
shine for all to see. It is our choice to either stay outside and rot on
the vine or come inside and be something new and bright."

I'll never look at a pumpkin the same way again!

4) Books of the Bible song

> "These are the holy books, tell me the names and I'll take a
> second look, this is God's holy word........"

James Ward does that song, but I'm not sure the title of the CD.

5) K thru adult class name?

I am looking for a clever name that would cover K thru adult to replace
the name"Sunday School". You guys have come up with some great names
for individual classes, how about a cover name for all "Sunday School"
classes? Thanks

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

6) Armor of God?

I am looking for games, stories, or anything else related to the Armor of
God. I teach ages 6,7,8,9.

--from SSTN: do a search on the Archives List at ChristianCrafters.Com
It's a GOLDMINE of ideas. Also, in the Game store is an Armor of God game.

7) Colored Sand

If anyone is interested in making layered sand in jars with your sunday
school kids, her is the way i did it. It was easy and inexpensive. Just
buy a bag of play sand or get some sand from a hardware store nad mix it
with the desired colored tempura paint. Let it dry and then sift in
through a strainer. It's really pretty.

8) Missionary mail

Thanks to everyone who sent suggestions. Here's what we decided to do,
based on one of them: Our diocese is hosting some teenagers from England
who are doing day camps in local churches. They are going to take our
boxes back with them and pass them on to some missionaries heading out to
Romania. So the craft supplies won't get there for summer, but at least
they'll have them for whenever they want to use them. Belva from Quebec.

9) Craft ideas on Joseph?

I am searching for craft ideas on the story of Joseph - Genesis 37 - 45.
Portraying God preparing us for...jealousy, competition/ snowball effect
of a lie, God using all things of good. Thanks for any suggestions.
Blessings, Lynn Rundberg

11) Bullying?

Dear Sarah, Greetings in no other name but Jesus.

I am writing to ask if you have any scriptures or books on bullying, as
many of my Sunday School children between the ages of 9 - 13 years are
experiencing this. I await you reply. Sister Maureen

--from SSTN:
Dear Maureen: This is something that concerns me too. Just this past week
we spent some time during 5th/6th grade Sunday School discussing what
W.W.J.D. REALLY means...and how this impacts our lives. I've posted the
lesson in the Bible Games section at: ChristianCrafters.Com

12) "Treat 'Em Right" book

This book contains reproducible pages you can copy and cut apart to make
small cards. Then you add a small candy or piece of gum to reflect what
the message on the card says, such as "here's a HUG for you for all you do
for our children." You would attach a candy "hug" to the card. It's fun,
but you have to be careful not to do it too often as it can be overdone I
think. Once or twice a year is about all I'd use it. You can also do it
for kids, school teachers, etc.
Jaymie Derden

--from SSTN: the book is available in the Bookstore at:
ChristianCrafters.Com
(Each month at our church, our C.E. Director gives similar "thank you"
items to all the teachers. This past week we received an unpopped bag of
popcorn with a card stapled to it that read: "When I think of good
volunteers, your name keeps popping up!" I teach every other month and it
is always nice to receive one of these thank you reminders. YSIC, sarah.)
