Ideas for children:
I am writing because I saw that Dennis Walsh needed ideas for
children. My mother & I are in charge of the Spanish Children's Ministry at
our church. For the past 2 years, we have been giving them books or passages
of the Bible to study. We write out 50 questions (with the answers and where
the answer is found). When it is time for the questions, we divide them up
in groups - according to their age. For every question they get right, they
get a ticket. We set up a table that looks like the prize table at Chuck E.
Cheese - we have a section of gifts that cost one ticket, the next section
is worth two tickets, etc. (If you want, I can send you a picture of the
table we set up). For ten tickets, the children can get a Bible (we order
from www.christianbook.com because they are cheaper there!).
We also have the children write out their own questions and answers.
When they day is approaching, whoever has a lot of questions can tell me what
kind of gift they want. (Aside from getting tickets - the children with the
most questions get separate gifts). One little girl wanted a purple camera
and another wanted a phone so I went out and bought them. This helps them
remember the story forever.
We give the children three months so they can study and the month
before, we go over the story and show them a movie. For example, on March
26th, we had the quiz for the story of Joseph (Genesis 37-50). We showed
them the movie and talked about it in class and in children's church.

Passover?
I'm so excited to find your web site. I look forward to trying out some of your great craft ideas at our children's church. Any ideas specific to Passover?
Thank you and God bless!
Sincerely,
Dawnya Lucas

(From ChristianCrafters.Com-I told Dawnya, but also wanted to mention to the rest of the network, we will be having an abbreviated Passover during SS this Palm Sunday. It is a great way to show the kids that our 'Lord's Supper' /communion is in remembrance of the last Passover Seder that Jesus partook of before he went to the cross. See: Mark 14:12-26 and 1 Corinthians 5:7. (Also: Revelation19:9)
Blessings, Sarah Keith. <><)

Palm Sunday craft?
I am a Jr. church coordinator/teacher who wishes to come up with a
craft for Palm Sunday for 3-6 year olds. I could do the traditional
palms out of construction paper but I am known for doing "cool" crafts
as my kids call it! I am just at a loss here...I can't seem to come up
with any creative ideas! Can you help? Lisa Barbee from Ohio.
(From ChristianCrafters.Com:
What about dipping the palm of your hands into green paint and placing on paper to make prints which resemble a palm branch. (4-5 palm prints facing left, one above the other, and 4-5 palm prints facing right, parallel to the other hand prints.)
Or, dipping a small, palm frond into green paint and making real 'palm prints'.)

Easter Mobile craft:

This is an Easter Mobile craft with a Christian message. It looks like fun.
Hope others enjoy it.

Washing feet idea
I did the last supper/washing feet idea last week with my class. We paired up and washed feet which they absolutely loved doing. I was going to let them play on playground first to get their feet dirty, but it rained that day. Then, after I taught them about the meaning of being a servant, we discussed ways that they could serve people. They all agreed to go home and do at least one act of service for their parents i.e. rubbing their back for 10 minutes. Then we made little pouches by sewing together two pieces of card stock paper with holes punched out for sewing. I found the simple pattern in a bible lessons book. I gave each child two pieces of candy; one they keep and the other they give to someone (not in their class) to practice serving others.

Folding a palm branch-cross?
My Pastor has seen in one of his past churches a palm branch folded into the cross to use with the Palm Sunday story for the Sunday School Children. Can anyone help me out with this? I am clueless.
Joannemames@aol.com
--From ChristianCrafters.Com-I know how to do this. I will try to get a picture into the website before this Sunday. If I do, I'll send a special letter letting everyone know about it. OK?
