From Trans to Transformed

How to Find Your True Identity

trans to transformed gender dysphoria

I think most people, at some point in their lives, have a sense that something isn't right. They may feel emptiness, brokenness, or a longing to be complete. This is actually a good thing. This God-given awareness tells us there is something missing; there is something wrong. We discern this because we are made in God's image and are hardwired for eternal things. Our sense that something is not right is, in fact, correct.

Sadly, rather than looking to God, people tend to look to themselves to be made whole, to find their purpose, or to fix their brokenness.

In recent years, our culture has witnessed this play out in destructive ways on a larger scale. Children and youth are being encouraged to permanently alter their bodies in an attempt to transform their outward appearance, believing this will resolve the inner turmoil of gender dysphoria.

Transgender intervention is dangerous* for long-term health. Yet this lifestyle is often promoted by corporations, while even some once-respected hospitals and medical professionals profit from the confusion of vulnerable children and their families.

You'll often hear justification for atypical sexual identity as, "I was born that way." The truth is, we are all born that way. We are all born into sin, separated from our true identity, and considered enemies of God. Our sin alienates us from the One who created us and loves us (Romans 5:1-11).

We cannot fix ourselves. Thankfully, God has provided the solution.

Jesus said we must be born again (John 3:1-8). He tells us to repent and believe the good news; that is, to change our minds about sin and salvation and turn to Him in faith (Mark 1:15). Only through Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, and through the truth of God's Word can we be transformed from brokenness to wholeness, from being God's enemies to being adopted into His family (Ephesians 1:5).

Scripture says, "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect" Romans 12:2.

Jesus carried our griefs and sorrows;
He was pierced for our transgressions;
He was crushed for our iniquities;
He brings us peace;
By his wounds we are healed.

Interestingly, the original URL still includes the words “transgender-interventions-harm-children.” It seems likely the article was taken down for political reasons—how sad!
